Max Roach Format: Vinyl. out of 5 stars 1 rating. deservedly acclaimed mid-century masterpieces by the Clifford Brown-Max Roach Quintet. Unfortunately, even the usual sparkling brilliance of Mobley and K.D. can't make up the difference for some uneven, less-than-stellar work in the rhythm section and a dull and distant sonic canvas 4/5(1).
